TRICKED AGAIN

I had expected that Splish would availed himself to my cam for a visual proof that the Weeders were real. Instead he had fun watching me hunt all over the back 40 for his appearance. When I put the cam down he showed himself. I now need a new pair of boots to keep tracking his movements and catch him unaware of my presence. After he showed himself, he let me in on another trick the Weeders possess which is the ability to carry spear grass for throwing at people that are unaware the damage they do to the plants when stepping on new growth. So, if you have been just walking out in the wilds and get home with spear grass on your pant legs you now know how they got there.

spring visit

This morning I went out to the hill where I last saw any weeders. Sure enough today I don't have the camera, there stood Schlitzzz waiting to visit. I asked him, where have all the weeders gone. He became rather sad at the mention of lost weeder family members. He told me that an area close to here, a farmer had used some bad weed spray and a lot of weeders died. He wanted me to let humans know that if the herbicide isn't organic it might kill the wrong weeds--US! So, I decided that I would use my blog to show people where to buy the right products. He told me that if I come back in a few days, he will bring the family for a group picture. Great news, trouble with that is, it is not the first time he has said that or exactly which day it will happen. We parted ways and the next post I might have pictures.

Where have they gone?

Well, it has been quite awhile since I last visited with the weeders. Although, I believe that with this colder weather setting in the northern weeders will be passing by on their way to the southern reaches of Texas. Since I exposed the presence of these little creatures they have somehow found out and have not been in my area in many, many months. Tomorrow I will be out hunting down one of these guys. Check back soon, I think I will have something to report.

It has been a few weeks since I last saw one of my weeder Friends, but the other day I found Schlitzzz (Flitschzzs' son) on the hill just enjoying the warm air out of the south. I asked him where all of his family has been. He said "we don't get out when it is so cold, so we've been bundled together under some fallen branches where it can get rather toastie. Although, being so close to family can get a little ugly, especially when some one has been drinking the soil under a bean bush." So I wondered as to what the weather is going to be in the last month of February (weeders are very good at forecasting the weather). Schlitzzz said that is pa is sure that we are going to have warm air and sun after one more blast of cold air from the northwest. After a short nap on the grass, Schlitzzz was gone and I went back to the farm and made plans to have an outdoor party March the 1st.

This is just a quick note and one of many that will soon come. The weeders are a fast bunch of beings, as am sure you will soon find out. They seem to move at just under a flash and as slow as grass grows. Their needle like teeth carry a potion that puts a person in a slow, slow mode. You have probably been hit before if while out in the fields where one would brush up against weeds, although not all weeds are weeders ( of course ).

Weeders are a very old being that have been around us since the beginning of time. They rarely make contact with us regular folk, but when they do it comes through a contact that was established long ago with certain families- I am from one of those families. When I was about 12 yrs. old my grandfather took me out to the far end of our pasture, where there stood an odd looking weed. About 3 feet high, this weed just seemed to sway back and forth when my grandfather began to speak. I never heard the weeder speak, but Pappy seemed to know what was being asked of him. He introduced me to the weeder in such a manner that I thought he believed that I could hear every word that was spoken. I told Pappy that I couldn't hear anything and he said "be quiet and listen inside your head, boy" I now admit that I did hear something, but back then there was just to much junk inside of my head. On the way back to the farmhouse he continued to tell me all kinds of things about the weeders, such as, how they talk, move about, and most importantly he said "when you hear them perfectly; your real life, your future adventures are just beginning."
